Brushing the Dust Off

After my acute identity crisis last week, I am still discarding the dust, leaves, and twigs I accumulated through that tumultuous fall and roll down Uncertainty Hill. As I piece what is left of my ego back together, I continue to be inspired by contributions of others in the world wide web. I thought I'd share a few of those here.

Photography

Flickr is an obvious source.
The Craftsman: N's photography is beautiful and precise. He has an affinity for complex panoramas and the wilderness, and his personality is wonderfully portrayed through his pictures and captions.

The Joyful Jewel: Through N I have become aquainted with J, whose photography and writing are some of the most poignant pieces of art I have ever encountered. I hope I get to meet her one day.

The Faithful Photographer: C's photoprojects are a unique insight into everyday life and the ways in which we can incorporate life into the humdrum. I must also confess to stalking her boyfriend whose "A Species A Day" project warms the cockles of my nerdy little heart.

And of course I must give credit to the Shutter Sisters who helped me discover that I, yes I, can be an artist. The daily musings and pictures on this site are AMAZING and I have gained confidence as an artist and as a woman from these ladies.

Writing

The Farm: My dear friend S and her four wonderful sisterfriends are living on a CSA in California in an effort to learn about food relationships and community. Each lady writes once a week, detailing their lives both past and present, in light of the community in which they find themselves. They are funny, they are thoughtful, they are refreshing, and I love them.

The Rare Writer: In an Anne Lamott-esque fashion, S effectivly cuts through the bullshit here and describes what many of us feel but don't know how to say.

The Poet: My heart does a little jump whenever a new EntMoot post shows up in my reader. Next to J, he is my biggest art crush.

And I could go on and on, but these are the people that jump out at me right now. This list also fails to mention a huge number of authors and artists whose works are published in tangible forms (books) but whom I follow in a cult-like fashion. Have fun on this hyperlink hunt!

Wow, I'm so flattered! Thanks for reminding me that I'm more creative than I tell myself I am on most days. Steve will be excited as well to hear that someone's stalking him :)

I too am familiar with the Shutter Sisters blog; it's pretty inspiring stuff.
